The @OurFranchise tour is currently making its way across Texas. IFA President and CEO Robert Cresanti, CFE met with leaders in the franchising community representing brands including FranFund, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes and Fuzzy Tacos, and held a technology roundtable with members of the Sport Clips, CMIT and SafeWay Driving brands.
Cresanti also met with politicians including state Sen. Charles Schwertner (R), Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and U.S. Rep. John Carter. The goal of those meetings is to urge members of the government to recognize the importance of franchising during the upcoming election. The industry has a large effect on Texas—according to a recent economic impact study from IFA’s Franchise Education & Research Foundation, franchising supports more than 635,000 jobs across the state.
“That’s why we’re here in Texas — to rally those of us who care about franchising, and educate policymakers, the public and the media that we are essential to the success of small business in this country and we must be protected,” said IFA President and CEO Robert Cresanti, CFE.
The @OurFranchise campaign hits the Lone Star State as the International Franchise Association kicks off this year’s FranTech Conference in Austin. The annual marketing and technology summit is specifically geared toward franchise marketing and technology professionals.
@OurFranchise is set out on a mission to educate public and elected officials about the benefits the franchising industry brings to the table, including successful business ownership opportunities that don’t require building an entirely new system from the ground up.
